In each edition, I write about the most important news, with extra details from reporters on the ground, and curate Times coverage to highlight those unexpected gems. I’m mindful that many of our readers are pressed for time, so each item is written succinctly with links that give the option to dive deeper. I also present Times culture and lifestyle news and share recommendations for free time, including books, movies, podcasts and playlists. I strive to point readers to the best of The Times’s coverage.

I have been based in Washington for The Times since 2021. Before taking on my current role, I worked on other Times newsletters, including the Asia Pacific Morning Briefing and The Morning. I also helped write the news quiz. Before that, I worked on The Times’s politics desk, where I reported on Virginia’s governor’s race.

I grew up in Massachusetts and have also lived in Indiana and Wisconsin.
